Question Please Help with question

I have a 2004 G35. This don't happen often, but when I accelarate on a hill or a incline, I hear high pitch metal noise (just like an old car with a worn transmission) Is this normal? My second problem is when I brake alittle harder than usual, my car have this big clunk noise (seems like something is stuck) Did anyone experience these kinds of symptoms on their G35? Any help is appreciated it. Thanks!

No, I would say a 'high pitched metal noise' while accelerating is not normal, unless you have a maunal, then all kinds of noises can be considered normal. Don't mean to sound like a smart-a$$ but if you read the ongoing sagas of the 6MT you'll see that the tranny isn't known for its silence or smoothness.

Do you have a manual or auto?

The clunk you hear could be your ABS system doing its business - exactly how hard are you braking? Do you feel pulsing in the brake pedal as you're coming to a stop? A clunking in the ABS can be a normal side affect of operation.

These are not normal occcurences for the G. Take the car to a dealer to get a proper diagnosis.

The high pitched metal noise sounds like it might be pinging. Might want to get the knock sensor checked out and/or make sure you're using 91 or better gas. (Although when the knock sensor is doing it's job it shouldn't matter) - Also if you're in a manual, be sure not to labor the engine going uphill - try downshifting.

The clunking when you "brake hard" might be the ABS or VDC. I think we need more information before anyone knows what's going on but in any case these concerns are probalby best addressed at the dealership.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their feedback. I have an auto trans. Where I live there is this little (bunny slope) hill, sometimes when I accelerate at the hill, the transmission have something metal juggling in the transmission. (not sure how to describe it.). I fill with 91 gas. For the clunk noise when I brake not hard, it is very loud in the car ( the sound seems like someone bumped you from behind) Anyways, I going to bring it in to the stealship this week.
