Replacement Exhaust Tips?
Replacement Exhaust Tips?
I recently purchased a used 2004 G35 6MT sedan. Although the car is in great condition, the chrome exhaust tips look like they had rarely been cleaned.
Any recommendations for replacement exhaust tips for a G35 sedan?
I've always thought the exhaust tips on the sedan looked a little wimpy, especially compared to the coupe's dual exhaust. I prefer that they look a little more aggressive (i.e., slightly larger diameter and maybe a tad longer). On the other hand, I am only looking for a subtle change.

I have no interest in replacing my stock muffler, only to replace the stock tips for a slightly thicker and more aggressive look (since I need to replace them anyway). To someone who is not closely familiar with the G35 sedan, I would want them to assume they are the stock tips.
sigh... I think I already answered that.
Per my original post: The current tips are not in good shape due to poor maintenance by the original owner. Since I plan to replace them anyway, I was just looking for alternatives to the OEM part from my local Infiniti dealer.
As to the fake tips from Pep Boys, I believe the tips on the Sedan actually screw on anyway, so I suppose they are "fake" too.

considering the OEM tips arnt really chrome (IMO) there more of just a silver, just go and get a new muffler and some sick tips that will really set your car off and make it perform better.........do you have intake or anyting else that would make the car sound better???
He doesn't want to do any of that. He's trying to replace his ****ty looking tips.
bama, yeah the OEM ones are just fake tips with a little bolt that tightens them on there. I know the thought of the Pep Boys fakees sounds really ghetto and depressing but they honestly won't be much different from OEM, plus you should have quite a selection to choose from.
...Just avoid the ones that are painted red inside
People will think you have a rocket engine.
I guess you could also buy some OEM tips from the dealership. They can be put on further toward the end so that the exhaust appears longer too if you want.

Good idea... I'll check on the '05 tips.
aam6906,
As to a waste of money... I suppose so - if you don't care about what your car looks like. That must be what the original owner thought, so he never cleaned them and now they look like crap.
