Sorry about the delay...sometimes it takes me a while to get my thoughts together.

Re: Corvette people. In my experience, they are not enthusiasts...they are fanatics. They don't say "I really like cars and the corvette is my favorite"...they say "The corvette is the best car ever built." and then fight among themselves about which year is the best. Once again, let me stress...in my experience...I'm not saying ALL corvette people are this way.

Not to just slam on corvette people either. Muscle car people get this way too. Whether it's mustangs or firebirds or camaros. And it's not just american muscle people that can be snobs about their cars. There were people that were so disgruntled when porsche watercooled the 911 that they say things like "I'll never buy another new porsche" and "the only REAL 911 is AIR COOLED."

Motorcycle people can get that way too.
'If you were a real motorcycle guy you'd own a Harley." Even Harley guys slam on each other..."Softtail?! You *****!"

Sometimes these things are just playful needling among friends, but when strangers say it to each other, it's just mean-spirited.

Basically..."My stuff is better than anyone elses" not an enthusiastic attitude...more like narcissism.
