low tire press warning light

Hi

We have about 2,000 miles on our 6MT and so far we love it. But....

After we have been driving for about 1.5hrs the low tire pressure light will come on. If you stop the car and then restart it the light will stay off.

We have been to the dealer twice to get it fixed; the first time they kinda blew us off. We were in today and the service rep said that it was a software problem and it was fixed. Nope, the light came back on tonight. Tire pressures are 33-36 on all tires. It is kinda weird that it take so long to come on.

Has this happened to anybody else? I would like to be able to point the service people in the right direction.

Thanks in advance. G35 driver is a very good forum.

Ray

I've changed my Goodyears to Toyo Proxes. Ever since, the indicator comes on during long drives once the tires heat up I guess. The tire pressures are fine. Not sure what it means.

Try another pound or 2 and see if it's not so sensitive, and make sure pressures are set when tires are cold.

Don't forget to check the pressure in the spare. This isn't a tire rotation calculation system, rather there are transmitters in the wheels, so it reads all 5 of the tires.

Good luck.

Even if it is a small temp type spare?

That I am not certain about, since my package includes the full sized spare.
