I had a 4 mos old '04 g35x. I was stopped in the right lane of a 4 lane highway at the end of a line of traffic waiting to get off an exit. A xTerra hit me from behind at full highway speed - the police told me later that there were not skid marks and they estimate that it was going 60mph when it hit me. My daugher was in the back and she has a broken jaw and may have some neck injuries. I was driving and have whiplash and bruises. Miraculous that we're alive and I have to give the g35 credit - the passenger compartment held its integrity well. The insurance institute gives the 35 a poor rear crash rating but I have to disagree! Pics attached - completely totalled.

Out of the hospital a few days and bought a new '05 g35x\lakeshore slate\stone\rosewood\5AT\premium C\Sirius. Not that I wanted to get into an '05 this way, but I like the refinements made to the front, back and interior. Pic attached.

Thank god you guys are okay. That looks horrible. Did you get any pics of the inside to see how well the cabin held? Car's are always replaceable not human life. So its good it did its job.

OMG ... that's terrible But glad you and your little girl came out of it okay.

The more I read about how well the G holds up in various crash scenarios, and see the incredible pictures, it's good to know that Infinti has built one solid vehicle.

Hope you guys make a speedy recovery ... and enjoy the new car too.

Take Care ..... Mike

Very glad to hear you two are ok......especially after seeing those pics. I would have thought otherwise had I just seen the pics with no background story.

Hope you two have a speedy recovery.

So glad you came thru that fairly ok. Hope your daughter is better soon.
Anyone who says the G's crash rating is poor is out of their mind from what I've seen. I think they do a remarkable job of protecting the occupents.
Hope you have better luck with the new ride.

Colin.

Thank goodness you two are relatively OK. I'm glad the G did its job and my best for a speedy continued recovery. Good luck with the new car. I hope your daughter isn't afraid of going in cars after that awful accident.

Thanks. It was a miracle we lived and I bought another g right away which is testament to my belief in the safety aspects of the vehicle.

seat belts
You all must have been wearing your seat belts and if the girl was in the back she must have been in a child/booster seat. That being said, Good job in wearing your seat belts and the G holding up. Be thankfull and congrats on another new G. Peace.

Wow, those are some amazing pictures. Good to hear that you two escaped with relatively minor injuries - from the looks of the car, it seems that it could have been much worse...

Glad you and your daughter will be fine. How old is she if I may ask? Also, what kind of injuries did the Xterra driver have and were there any factors that contributed to the collision (alcohol, cell phone, etc.)?
