New tranny in '04 G35x?
New tranny in '04 G35x?
Well, my year and a half old G35x with just over 10k miles (fairly easy miles at that!) is now in the shop for it's first problem - a biggie - a new tranny.
Here's the story: The car was in for service (oil change, small dash rattle). When I picked it up it would no longer go into reverse. I was *pissed*. I have no idea what they could have done to it doing just an oil change, but it's way too much of a coincidence that the tranny has been fine and when they give it back it won't go into reverse.
Of course, the dealer claims ignorance and, after checking the car, says I need a new tranny which they're putting in now. They swear it's *new* and not remanufactured. I don't really believe them, but I'm not sure how I would go about confirming either way.
Anyhow, just curious - anyone else have any tranny issues with the G35x? I think it's a different auto tranny than in the RWD model, but not sure.
