Damaged Rim - The Prophecy Fulfilled
Discount Tire next to the Tinseltown out by the crosstown expressway.
They've been bulletproof up until this incident. I'll continue to go there until I move to the northwest. I realize that accidents happen and it appears that they are making good on their mistake - actually doing it much faster than I imagined they would.
All of that didn't make me any less pissed at the time.

All done. Wheel is replaced and looks as new. Tire is patched, remounted, no damage. I'll throw it back on the car in the morning.
Less than a week beginning to end - not bad.

I recently had a screw in one of my tires on my G and I took it up to the local Firestone. I told them I wanted to watch while they did the job. First, I wanted to make sure they didn't mess up my rim, also I wanted to make sure they didn't screw up the Tire Sensor. My understanding these puppies costs approx. $90 and are easy to mess up.
I watched everything he did. They did a great job and I actually tipped the guy for taking extra care with it.

Dealers markup their PARTS cost from 70-100% to arrive at RETAIL MSRP. Not a pure markup but net cost after quarterly rebates based on parts selling volume.
Most independents, and body shops get 20%-25-30% off MSRP from dealers depending on their monthly purchase amounts.
