Sending Unit déjà vu?
Sending Unit déjà vu?
I had both my fuel sending units replaced on 8/07/04 due to the common problems with the gauge never reading full and the tank never filling up (based on capacity).
Just last week the problem started again!
Anyone else had to replace the stupid things multiple times? Luckily I have an appointment in 1.5 weeks, and I'm under my warranty period, but I was really hoping the first fix would last more than 10 months.
Any thoughts, advice or general well wishes and positive karma would be appreciated...

I recently had the shutter valve replaced on my '03 coupe as it was shutting off prematurely when filling the tank, as outlined in one of their TSB's. A couple days after getting the car back, I ran out of fcking gas (!) Fortunately I was right next to a gas station so I was able to coast in and fill it right back up.
However, when this happened the gas gauge read that I had 1/4 tank left. When I filled back up, I made sure to reset the tripometer and keep an eye on it. Previously, I would get around 300miles before hitting E with the fuel light on. After this last fill up, I am at 310miles and it's at 1/4 tank again.
So, what I don't know is if I'm having some type of problem with the fuel gauge now after they "fixed" the shutter valve and I'm actually about to run out of gas OR I really have 1/4 tank left because the last time I got gas it took close to 20 gallons to fill up whereas before the most I could fill up was about 15 gallons.
Any thoughts/input/suggestions? Thanks.
