Will there be a 2006.5 Sedan??

Just wondering if Infiniti has a tendency to release a more I guess "updated" versions of the G35 every half year?

I would also like an opinion from you folks as well. As you can see in my sig, I don't own a G yet but seriously am considering getting the new '06 g35x sedan (I wish the awd came with a m/t or the coupe with awd & m/t) but since I live in Connecticut and it snows round here, it'd be a better choice to go with awd since it will be driven during the winter as well. My question is, should I get the new G now or wait till after the winter is over?

Why wait? The snow is a problem with lots of cars. The AWD is terrific, but you still need to drive sensibly. If there is an 06.5 I'm not sure if there would be major changes. It would be unlikely that they would do a AWD/mt in mid year. Mine is great, although I just had my headlights stolen (and door handle ripped off)-see my recent thread. By the way, the AWD is good in rain and wet leaves too (you have those in CT, right? ) In fact, I'll be driving past your town today, so if there is any rain, why don't you get rid of it for me-thanks.

I'm in a similar situation as you bro. I also live in CT and love the look of the coupe, but its not practical in this area. I'm going to see if I can score a good deal on an 05' G35x next month. So If I were you I would go get one sooner rather than later.

I seriously doubt it. Nissan usually doesn't do that. My guess is that the G sedan won't change much until the next body style.

It looks like Infiniti upgraded the brakes on the '06 X, don't know why they didn't for '05 like the others. So, yeah, buy it!

I agree...
This late in the product cycle, there will not be any mid year changes.

The new car is still rumoured for '07 (sedan in Sept '07 & Coupe in Jan '08),
so they won't be spending anything they don't have to, on the current car.

Where'd you get this from?

Thing it would be a good idea for a possible swap?

The spec's for the '06 G35, at Infiniti's website, shows the brakes are the same for all G's.

Thanks and sorry - couldn't tell from what was up there what had changed.

So my question is - will the 06 x brakes fit the 05 x and do you think this is a good idea for a swap with all the dust/brake wear problems?

Well, if it was possible, and cost effective, I would definitely say yes, having driven my '05 for 3 months now, the brake dust issue is gone, and the brakes feel much better IMO.

I test drove the new g35x sedan yesterday.....OMG!!!!! If it wasn't raining, I would have LOVED to test out the full potential of that car, but even a slight tap on the pedal and that baby is screaming full of power. I could imagine how the extra 18 ponies in the m/t must have felt like. One thing I did not like however is that the car has very very touchy brakes, but I guess its a good thing since it'll guarantee the funtionality of the brakes. Seriously, I was like a little school girl when I drove it around, that car is amazing! One of the reasons I am leaning towards the new G is because of all the neat features (ie: bluetooth since they just passed the handsfree driving law in CT now and the intelligent key) unlike some of its competitors which lack similar features.

Did you drive an '05 or an '06? Because the brakes on the '05 X were the same size as the '03-'04's, but Infiniti's website says the '06 X's brakes are the same as the '05 sedan, not sure why they didn't change them until '06.

That isn't so great when trying to be smooth and fuel-consumption minded while stuck in traffic.
