I searched the forums, but the threads that popped up hadn't been responded to in over 2 years.

In the last 2 years, have any companies come out with hood lifters for our cars? something to replace the prop rod?

It's been tried. You should have been able to find something with the search function. The problem is, the hood is aluminum, and bends easily. Past attempts have lead to buckling of the hood.
