Getting a new g35, your thoughts on which one?

Hey guys, im new to the forums but I will definetely be here a lot now that im getting a g35. Im 19 yo and im stuck between the 3 models. What would you recommend for someone who likes to drive quickly once in a while. The awd intrigues me but i do like stick shift and those 300 horses do sound pretty good to me. It was a choice b/n this car, tsx, and maxima. Originally i opted for the s2k or z but no back room and insurance rates are too high for the coupe g. I have always liked this car and looks like im getting it unless something really big changes my mind and i opt for the maxima, but doesnt look like it. So anyways, what model is recommended by people on this forum, the g35x g35 or 6mt. Thanks for any input you guys give.

P.S. I look to put rims, i/e, headers etc. on the car if that has any affect on the model choice

Obviously, I would suggest the G35 6MT Coupe. However, that is a totally subjective opinion. Honestly, you should test drive all the cars, which you have an eye on and then decide based on your own personal criteria/needs.

Good luck and enjoy your final choice.

Of your list, I've only driven a few of them...

G35x - this is what I owned now. No option for stick and would be hell alot more fun with stick but if you live in northeast and wants awd this is the only one on your list.

350z - drove the stick...awesome handling...lovely exhaust note...fast! Interior is so-so but with a car that fast/handles that good who cares about the interior

Tsx - drove the stick...definitely one of the best/ultra smooth gears out there. The gear box is short throw just like the 350z but the shifts are better. Power is so-so but saves you alot of gas money. Interior is also nice and I think it's nicer than my 05 g35x

Maxima - never a fan of the look...not my cup of tea

S2000 - four wheel street bike

I guess if you want a stick and power then get the 4 door G35.

given your preferences, I would go with a 6mt(sedan), it's one bad mamma jamma.....
BTW you were kidding about the Maxima right?

LOL . . . I'll reserve my comments with regard to the Maxima. On the serious side, if you are giving the Sedan 6MT a closer look, I would point you in that direction for a test drive.

My brother got a 6MT Sedan and I thought it was awesome. His sedan caused me to take a hard look at Infiniti when I was looking for new car to replace my totalled 328i convertible.

6MT = Smiles by the miles . . .

But then again, that's totally subjective.

Don't get me wrong, the Maxima is a nice car (with a VQ I might add) but it does not feel like a proper sports sedan, for obvious reasons....

Sorry to be contrary, but after reading all the threads here about the 6MT, I recommend the AUTO.

It's quick, fast, smooth, and the manual-mode is a hoot. Given the average driver, it'll run right beside the 6MT.

G35 Coupe 6MT but get whatever you feel best in. It all depends on the driver. For me, my car is my wife. The perfect wife description varies from person to person. We cant tell you wich one is for you, only YOU can know by feel.

You didn't say where you lived. Anywhere that gets snow, I would look at the G35X or the maxima. The TSX is a nice car but very small and underpowered.

Judgeing by your needs, the 6M/T Sedan is the ride for you. It affords good practicality with decent performance, while not breaking the insurance bank.
G/L with your purchase.

Very nicely stated! I test drove each of these as well and couldn’t have put it any better... I will add though: the Maxima not only loses marks on looks (IMO), it has ridiculously heavy torque steer!!!! Honestly, when I punched it around corners, it didn't feel safe! Way too squirrelly. I don’t know why they designed that as FWD.

That’s all - ta, ta bye, bye.
