Nicely Cracked Windshield

Nicely Cracked Windshield
It was one of the coldest days of winter and my wife told me about the cracked windshield she noticed when the ice melted off.
I took it to the dealer and he ran his pen over the crack and found a pin-head size divit and said this is not a stress crack and therefore not covered under warranty. The funny thing is the crack starts at one end of the front vent goes up an inch goes straight across the vent and ends on the other side of the vent!!!! Any chance I can take this to corporate Infitite and get help?
It's my first time on any forums so I'm open to suggestions on technique.

I'd have to say I doubt it, if there's even a tiny "divit" it took some sort of impact, I had mine crack, I heard it crack, but didn't see a stone chip, took it to the dealer, he found it, it was right at the very bottom edge of the glass, I don't know how a stone got under the wiper, but it did, your situation sounds very similiar! If it was a stress crack, I doubt there would be a divit IMO.

I had the same thing happen to me. Went out to my car one day to find a huge crack, then I noticed the divot below the wiper blade. I actually heard the rock hit a few days earlier, but didn't notice the damage because it was hidden by the wiper.
Got it replaced and three weeks later another stone hit creating a huge crack. I guess I need to add windshield repair to my insurance policy.

Thanks for the feedback...I was hoping I had a chance with the crack pattern. FYI: I barely remember the dealer said that if the divit was on the edge of the windshield I may have had a chance for warrenty replacement.
I'm in philly and have a 03. It's on lease and I'll wait until March to fix it to avoid Philly_G35's experience.
