Trunk Opener Not Working. Easy Fix or Take It In?

I went to open my trunk using the slide control on the dash. It slid like it usually does, but the trunk didn't open. I had to use the key pad to open the trunk. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Even though the warranty would cover this, I'd like to fix it myself because the dealership is a 90 minute drive. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks!

I had this same issue myself! Happened twice...I put the key into the ignition and turned it to on...and then it worked.....

Infact one time, neither the button or the keypad worked....i had to put the key inside the ignition and turn it to acc. or start the car.

I hate to ask, but are you sure the switch in the glovebox was not in the position that disables the dash switch? Sorry if it seems obvious, but the switch can get bumped inadvertently.

If the remote opened it, it may just be a loose wire at the switch, or between the switch and the release.

So that's what that switch in the glovebox is for! Thanks, Andy. Switch is working just fine now.

You're welcome! I am glad it was an easy "fix."

Wow, that would've sucked to have to drive 90 minutes to have the dealer tell you that you need to enable the control with the switch in the glovebox!

Always read the manual

Best thing would always be to read the User Manual and also post on forums such as these.
