No, that's not it. I did some digging and found the car I'm talking about. It's SCEXPLORER's car:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/50624-check-scexplorer-wheels.html

He formed an M3 lip spoiler to his black sedan and it looks brilliant. Ma Sha had the right idea, but it looks tacked on to me. Not too bad though. Still ten times better than the factory spoiler. Nice car.

I mentioned earlier to Canuck that we have lots of campfires in the back yard. Well here is a pic, my wife didn't want her pic posted on the internet but my 2 other girlfriends Meg and GEE don't mind .

Nice setting Wayne. Was Meg out lounging by the fire or guarding the G? LOL.
Of course in that neck of the woods, not much gets tampered with..
You're lucky with 3 lady friends.....

I'm very anti-wing, purely from a design standpoint. Can you tell? However, a tasteful lip spoiler, such as those used on certain Audis, BMWs and Mercedes(es?), can work very well on a car and add a sporting touch. Over-wrought flying wingy-thingies, most commonly used by Japanese manufacturers, are distracting, juvenile and are about as subtle a design statement as pea green metallic paint. They hit you over the head and demand that you look at them, which distracts from the rest of the car.

There is a sedan owner here who added a lip spoiler, I think pulled from an M3, to his G35. Looked fantastic. Very elegant. Anybody got a pic?

Just my two cents. Feel free to throw both pennies back at me. Hard.
I can respect that. I find that the older I get, the less I like spoilers in general. However, there are some cars, in my opinion, that just look better with them. Some even look better with the ricer wings.

Without the spoiler, the g, and the 05 in particular, just seems to have an odd width/height ratio; i.e., it looks too skinny when viewed from directly behind. Also, and this may just be me, but with the spoiler it's profile hints at the mid-eighties porche 911's. You've got the headlights that rise above the hood, to the sharp front window, to the loooong sloping roofline, all the way back. With the spoiler, that line looks deliberately smooth yet menacing. Without it, it looks like the engineers got bored and just cut off the back of the car.

As for other cars, there's one in particular that looks absolutely fabulous with the OEM spoiler: the EVO. I know a lot of people say it's way too riced, and gaudy, but to me it just fits with the rest of the car. I could stare at the evo all day long.

We all have definite and valid opinions about what we like and why. I greatly prefer the sedan with no spoiler. To my eye it looks sooooo much classier that way to me. I haven't seen any spoilers I really like for the G sedan. I do understand that we all see things differently......and that's fine.

I decided to skip the rear spoiler. I like the spoiler from the front 3/4 view, but not as much from the side. I'm glad it's offered just like everything else we all like to discuss...Stone/Graphite/Wheat....The 17 standard wheels vs the 18s...sport vs stock suspension....and so on......

I thought these 2 pics showed that the summer performance tires on the 18s are still good for mild hill-climbing in the X

LOL, Great little 'circuit' you got there in your yard Wayne, I wouldn't mind a crack at that on my next visit.
I wonder if my rear drive M would negotiate that hill????

LOL, You could try her out Colin, but I might be forced to keep the Silver Beauty in my back yard after those big 19s dig a couple of furrows part way up the hill from the back yard .

Yikes, that's quite a 'track penalty'.
Thanks anyway, I think I'll just enjoy your 4x4 escapades instead. .

That spoiler looks tacky on your car GEE35X. I would have stayed with the factory one. It looks like those IS 300 spoilers. Not tasteful at all, and it doesn't add anything to the car, but taketh away.
