Squeaking Brakes

My brakes are squeaking on my 05 with 5K miles. If I take it in are they gonna fix it or tell me it's normal? I don't expect a $35k car to have squeaky brakes after 5k miles. Any suggestions?

Edit: From further analysis this is only happening after driving for about 30-40 minutes (ie... drive home from work about 35 miles).

Just take it to the dealer and complain. They will fix it under warranty, no problems. And no, after 5000 miles, the brakes should not be squeeking.

This topic has been covered before. I have/had the same problem and did a search on this site and found a number of threads on squeaky brakes. The problem seems to be fairly common. I have on 04 with 7,000 km on it and the brakes started squeaking at about 5,000 km. It happens after I've been driving for a while and the squeaking starts just as I'm about to stop. Talked to the dealer. He said it's from the build-up of brake dust, they're performance brakes, blah blah blah. Try cleaning them with a hose, or braking hard occasionally, or if I'm worried about it bring the car in and they'll look at the brakes. I did notice that if I braked hard, the problem would go away. I haven't gone to the dealer yet. I know they're soft pads, but I can't believe that after only 5,000 km the squeaking means the pads are worn out - I don't drive or brake like a maniac! Anyways, for some reason I don't seem to hear the squeaking much any more.

This is not isolated to the OEM brakes, I put on after market brake kit including Stoptech cross drilled rotors and hawk pads and about a month and half afterwards my brakes started squeeling at low speeds as well. Hard braking is fine, when It's cold in the mornings it seems fine but after driving a while it starts again. I think it may need some brake grease behind the pads or something, too bad I am not mechanically inclined enough to know how to do it
