Question Black Stock Grill

ok, so it looks like the UT front grill won't be coming out until 2010. In the meantime I've decided to paint my grill black, but what do you think would look better?

Black Chrome or Flat Black or Black Anodize

What's the color of your car? Last week I painted my grill gloss black to match my black G. It looks so much better than the chrome. It really cleans up the front end. I can't wait to get the Aero bumper.

Keep in mind you need to do a ton of sanding on the chrome, lots of cleaning to remove the old material, and primering. It took me about 4 hours from start to finish. If you don't do it the right way, the paint will easily chip.

I painted my Laser Red G35C oem grill a medium black. I wanted the color to be close to my Volk SF's Diamond Black wheels. It turned out pretty nice, but DaveB is correct about the prep work. I'm getting some rock and sand chips on the grill, but so is my bumper and hood. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/metallic.html

Body color. I am going to do the same thing. I need to do door handles, trim around windows, front grill and remove infiniti and g35 badges. I just need justify how much it is going to cost to have this done..

There was a guy that painted his grill black to match his black sedan and he left the Infiniti logo chrome. It looked very good. I plan on having it done to my grill as well.

Yeah, I think that turned out really well.

bert, what color is your car? Black chrome may work better if the body is not black.

I have a brilliant silver car, and to be honest I was all set to wait for the UT grille, but after the wait and seeing constjs' s car and this one:

I've definitely decided to go with black chrome. Thanks for the help guys!

I was thinking about it....

I picked up a housing from a G that was in a front ender.
So I'll experiment with that first.

Just not sure when though, my G has already been off the road for a while
with some interior mods.
Might have to wait until fall....
