My wife had an 02 Maxima and their was a huge problem with idiots stealing the lights up here. The NYPD actually had a special task force set up for the Maxima lights. I have an 05 G35 sedan. Is this a big problem for this car too? I didn't realize that all G35s didn't have xenons.

the headlight assembly is attached to the car with 3 plastic tabs,they brake the tabs not the bolts.

 

Just an observation.

If they break these little plastic tabs and it takes less than a minute, what good is a shock sensor going to do? Or an alarm? It seems to me they could have them out and be gone and your car would sitting there bellowing with two gaping holes where the headlights used to be.

If these guys are good enough to get them out this quick, no alarm int he world is gonna stop them. It's the same thing with the well-practiced stereo thieves. They're in and out and gone and your car just sits there with the alarm going off.

Sorry to be a nay-sayer, but I don't think an alarm is gonna do a whole lot. They go off so frequently that I don't even pay any attention to them anymore.

 

DDDDaaaamn I had a 02 Maxima and that was the biggest complain about the 02-03 models. Headlight theft. Though I never had mine stolen, it sucks to always have to worry about it. What I didn't know is that the g35 has the same easy theft lights. Good lord Nissan can we fix this crap once and for all, besides the useless theft deterrence kit sold for the maxima's?

 

One of my friends manages a car audio shop in Miami. He told me that South Motors Infiniti has an ongoing contract with his shop. Whenever new Gs arrive at the dealership, they go out and install "anti-theft" brackets behind the headlights. People were stealing the headlights off the Gs right on the dealership lot!!!

 

what is this anti-theft bracket? how good is it how much does it cost and can it be done at any shop.

It is Dream Cars South. There main store is loctaed just north of South Motors Infiniti. My friend, Raul, manages the other store on W. Kendall Dr.

I don't know what they use for a bracket. It could be just some "back strap." Even if the thieves break the plastic tabs, the strap might hold it in. Call them to find out what they do.

 

I live in Miami too, and had mine stolen only once. Thank God. Ever since I installed an aftermarket alarm, and been very careful where I park. I think I'm going to call Dream Cars South ask them about that bracket.

 

I had this happen to my previous car, TL Type S also in Miami. Right in front of my house. Mind you a gated community. I was very hesitant in getting the G due to this. Time for Motion Sensor install and call dream cars south for the strap.

 

QuadCam, find out from your buddy since he is the manager, if he will do a bulk buy/install of this strap for the owners of G's in miami? Or at least a bulk buy of the straps of owners of G's anywere that are interested. Let us know. Thanks
