Excited until I see the estimated target price for $70k. That's too much for GT-R. I'm still stuck in the past R34 price range where its only $40k. I can understand for $50k but $70k. There are whole lotta other cars to consider at that price range. I would rather pick up a 1 year old BMW M5 or a loaded 545i sport. Look likes my dreams is getting farther and farther away.

They're taking the car upscale for the NA market.
They had to decide which market to pursue - as a $50K Nissan and go after the Vette, etc. Or as a $75K Infiniti and go after 911, etc.
They chose to bring it over as an Infiniti, and therefore go after upscale marques... and pricing will reflect this.
