HELP !!! Thinking about trading in for WRX STi...
IMO Stis and EVOs are not good daily drivers. They are wonderful machines to have fun with and to take out on the track. They are fast cars stock, can be made ridiculously fast with mods, and will run circles around the G. But the low rent interior, the unaesthetically pleasing exterior (subjective), and the lack of creature comforts cannot be overlooked. Thus your decision to lease the STi as a toy is a wise choice. I definitely wouldn't mind having an STi or an EVO as a weekend toy if I could afford two cars.
i could never imagine calling a sedan - a weekend car. wow. times have changed. maybe i should stop looking into the lotus, vette, porsche thing (all around $50k). go fi (cheaper), and then reconsider your options. it's cheaper for me to put a vortech in, than to go buy an M3, and i can have almost as much fun on a daily basis as well, and save $60,000*.
*assuming the car is already owned, and the bmw m3 is a 2005 model before taxes and registration fees apply. vehicle must be purchased before the new 2006(7) m3 is released because fun factor could multiply exponentialy, which would render this statment false. void in WI, WV, and NC on fridays.

get a turbo or super charger for the g and some suspension work and you will be happy. better then driving around in a lil kids car, wrx are considered a teenagers car around boston, because for graduation most get a WRX or EVO, there are sooooo many wrx running around , its not funny, they are soo played out, get a m3 if you want real power.
Man, you are a definite candidate for 24 month leases with that resume. Leasing an STi on the side isn't a terrible idea - without question it's a monstrously fun car to have in the stable if your garage is big enough
Take the $380 a month and start saving for your kid's education.
When you get to be my age, you'll look back and wish you had all the money you wasted swapping cars. I look at your registry of former cars and try to make sense of your decisions, but for the life of me I can't.
Either you have more money than sense, or you have a problem controlling impulse, or both.

The STi is a killer sedan, but it's full of compromise.
- No cruise control
- Lots of drivetrain noise
- Lots and lots of road noise
- Harsh suspension
- Prone to heavy understeer unless you're comfortable with exploiting the car's very high limits.
- Very low rent interior for the price
- Damn expensive for an Impreza which starts out at $20K.
- Interesting looks
Strong points:
- Super easy to go deep into the 12s with minimal investment
- Killer chassis
- Killer drivetrain
- Purpose built driver's car
- Hell of a deal for the technology, power, and seating capability

you cant go out to dinner in a car like that. thats more like a tuner car then a daily driver. its an awesome car but not for a young professional. get a audi S4 if you want a awd ship *** car.

come on... you can't tell me that fine print isn't sometimes amusing to read....
i was trying to say more with less... i guess i failed...
According to your 'Past Rides' list, it's obvious you only like what you are currently not driving...so, I guess go for the STI...because then you can start looking for your next car

Anyway, if it's a toy, maybe buying a used one would be the way to go.
This thread showed me that I, too, seem to have a problem. Been married for 8.5 years, and my wife wants to know if I'm ever gonna pay off a car. My resume isn't quite as long, but when I look at it and my approaching 40th birthday, I think to myself, "This has to stop."
