What is that in relationship to invoice? No one should pay a cent over $500 over invoice. And do not let them try the "no deal's on 6mt's" I paid $500 over invoice for my 6mt.

Re: need advice for price

The market you're in makes a difference. Some dealers need to negotiate, others have the monopoly and can call their price. Feedback on the board so far, seems to indicate that deals on the 6MT are unlikely,... Gsedan35's deal is the first real discounted price I've read about.

So let us know what area of the country you're shopping....

Re: need advice for price

Chinee;

I just ordered a 6MT sedan at 1% over invoice. That will be less than $400 over, but it will be an 04, so exact pricing is not set. I really did not need to push the dealer for that price...it was their idea. I agree with Gsedan35....you really shouldn't need to pay more than $500 over invoice for a sedan.

Re: need advice for price

I got my 6MT sedan for $500 over invoice also. My local dealer is the only one in Western Washington and they weren't dealing below MSRP. So I bought mine in CA and drove it back to Seattle.

Re: need advice for price

I'm in OH. What do you guys mean by invoice price ? do you mean the msrp ? if invoice is the msrp then I should pay more than $40k with tax included. the only thing missing is the heated seats and mirrors. Do you think that this option is important ?

Re: need advice for price

Invoice is not the same msrp. Dealer invioce refers to what the dealer pays for the car. 500 + Invoice is always much less then MSRP. You can search the internet to find the dealer invoice price. Here is a link to emdunds.com for the G35. I have been using this site since like '96 and it has never let me down!

Click on the g of your choice on this site and take a look at what the dealer paid ^-^

Re: need advice for price

Don't know about the weather in Ohio but when winter comes, my heated seats and mirrors are going to be in high demand.

My invoice price was $32,400. I paid $32,900. MSRP was $35,900.

$40k including tax seems really really steep. If your local dealer doesn't want to deal, why not buy out of state at Grubbs Infiniti in Texas and have it shipped to your house for $250 to $650. You'll save $2300 even after you count the shipping costs.

Re: need advice for price

Thanks for the info..., it really helps me a lot. Lets just say that the invoice price is 30,000 so we should pay less or equals to 30,500 right ? do you guys pay just that or you still have to apply the local tax ? OMG, thanks for the info guys.., you just saved me from a rip off

Local tax is on top of agreed price.

Re: need advice for price

I'm planning into getting a G35 sedan too. Do dealers typically let their G35 loose on a $500 over invoice deal? Is it the 'norm' now?

Re: need advice for price

Some are even cheaper... I got a call at 11pm on the night that I'd closed on my G in Indianapolis. The Nashville dealership with whom I'd briefly spoken called me to offer me the car at $2000 UNDER invoice. Had they not shown thoroughly unscrupulous business practices up to this point, I might've considered it. I told them I don't deal with people who operate the way they do, and I sure as hell wasn't going to condone their behavior by rewarding it. I told the Indy dealer what had happened, and they enlightened me... Infiniti US was offering a Rolex to the dealer who made the most sales that month. Nashville was one behind Indy, and if they stole this sale from them, they'd be one ahead... all he had to do was close the sale by midnight. After I had told the Nashville sales manager no, he got bitter. He held on to the one car I wanted (it was in St.Louis) that he knew Indy was trading for, and told the dealer that HE had sold it first, etc. just so I wouldn't be able to get it, and Indy would possibly have me cancel my deposit, making them even in sales. This, to me, was pathetic. After a week of hemming and hawing on St.Louis’s side (it’s not fun to make a fellow dealer mad), I called St.Louis and told them that if I called them back in an hour and they still hadn't officially traded it with Indy, I would just walk across the street, begrudgingly, to the BMW dealership and we'd get a 330xi and an X5 instead of the G and the FX. He called back 20 minutes later and said it was on its way to my door...
Sometimes good deals like this will come along, keep your ear to the ground and find out dealer discounts, etc., but always make sure you can live with yourself if you take it, because sometimes it's a childish game between grown men built of spite and idiocy.

Re: need advice for price

Are you guys really pay only $500 over invoice ? cause I think that's very cheap. The sales guy that talked with me were very hard to negotiate with. He insisted to stick with his price, which I believe is more than $1500 over invoice. And unfortunately, he is the only dealership, in OH, who have the car that I want in stock.

in NJ, you can get sedans well under msrp.
big dealer who won't budge on coupe was ready willing and able to negotiate on the sedan.
