Question Is this the new G?

Is this the new G?

http://www.caranddriver.com/idealbb/...?topicID=66755

I hope so. Then I won’t have to second guess myself for buying the 05 G. This is hideous!

it's not G, not M, or maxima...
it's just a Nissan Teana. They came out about 2 years ago in Taiwan. I saw a lot of them when i was in Taiwan last month.

It is basically a Maxima, you will find it called a Teana in Japan and most of Asia, and actually a SM520 in Korea (it is not sold under the Nissan name in Korea).

It used to be the Ciefro, when Nissan changed to the sixth generation Maxima (2004), they changed it to the Teana, and we kept the Maxima name.

Oh and it available with other engines and AWD in Asia...

Fuga=M
Teana=Maxima
Cima=Q
Skyline=G
Primera=Sentra (they have a new generation already)

Whoever wrote that post is on crack, that car does not slot in above the Maxima, it is the Maxima!!! Just goes to show, don't believe everything you read on the internet, hell I could be wrong....

As this car is shown in the pictures(What ever it is), is it currently in production? Were those actually spyshots of a future car or are they shots of a current JDM car. Whatever that car is it is terrible. That car would never survive in the US market. Huh kinda like the last generation Maxima. Out with the ugly in with the uglier!

This is Nissan Teana that was introduced few years ago in Japan. It's placed above skyline and below Fuga (M). It's number one sales point is incorporating "modern living" concept interior that is almost like an Italian furniture. It is fairly popular in Japan due to its high sense of interior design but will most likey stay in Japan.

By the way, Maxima was never sold in Japan. It's more likely a Cefiro (I30)replacement. Also, Nissan Primera is G20 here, not Sentra. Older generation Sentra was called Nissan Sunny in Japan. Current one is not sold in Japan. Nissan wants to bring their new pupular hatch and sedancalled Nissan Tiida to US to replace Sentra. Very nice styling.

I just saw the picture and article last night ... didn't read it carefully though, but from what I can recall it said that Nissan is looking at a vehicle that could slot above the Max ... similar to the Avalon v. Camry.

It also said that this has always been a RHD model, obviously for the JDM market. But if you look at the interior shot it's LHD leading one to believe that it's being considered for the North American market. And the dash layout (the Murano -Max pod set-up) is clearly visible.

Stay tuned
