I was at Nissan when I had one and the service guy told me they have a 350z 6mt n the back with a burned transmission. He said the guy that owned it was sueing the valet for the damage and possibly a new car. I know someone who was a valet and he told me they use to race the cars in the long straight away (irvine spectrum parking lot is huge). He said I would not valet your car unless you want someone having fun.
No valet touches my car.

Nice touch having your car in front of the place but at $50 it seems a pretty expensive ego boost.

OG, if I had the coin for a Bentley, or a Carerra, I'd have one. Hell, we all would. The fact is that most of us, especially on this board, have the G35 because it is a VALUE. So, even though my car is worth ~$32,000 New, it is still my best vehicle and I won't let it be (or risk it being) abused by some valet. To the best of my control, there is one person who’s going to beat the snot out of my G, and that, of course, is me.
Now, it is likely that the average Valet would drive my car no harder than I would. But there is the risk that some 17 years olds may exercise poor judgment and teach some other valets how to drive stick on my car. That’s not acceptable. (is the voice of experience ringing through? Let’s just say the 17 Y.Os did not realize that the 10th tee is adjacent to the 1st tee which in turn is adjacent to the Club house and the Member’s parking lot….The owner of the 1994 325is was not thrilled to see his car go round and round the parking lot…..
My GF is cool with me avoiding the Valet unless it's raining/snowing. And then we take her car (Nissan, good girl) and I get to DRINK!

I don't think the qualifications to park other people's cars for minimum wage and tips include knowing how to drive a stick properly. I wouldn't want someone grinding my gears even once. Just to put it in perspective, would you let some seventeen year old with green hair and a nose ring that you didn't know have the run of your house when you weren't around?
