Re: tl-type-s or the g35 sedan winner????
Yeah, I drive an '03 TL-S and the G35 would beat it off the line and in the twisties. I test drove a G before I bought the TL-S, but went with the Acura because I wanted more of a cruising vehicle for my hellish commute and the Inifiniti dealer in my area was being a harda$$ about the price. Plus, they low-balled me on my '96 Maxima trade-in. That, and the Acura dealers were practically giving the TL's away (presumably because the redesigned '04 model is coming soon). The interior of the G is a little bit quirky for my taste (what can I say, I'm a 40-year-old guy). The TL-S drives great, though I would really love to have a G35 6MT Desert Platinum. I'm not really into racing, so it doesn't matter much to me that the G will beat it. Plus, I rarely drive twisty roads.

I drove the CL-S Type extensively and really liked the car a lot, but i was turned off by two miserable Acura dealerships that tried to **** me bigtime. I doubt I will ever buy an Acura or a Honda due not only to those two dealerships but also due to the way Corporate completely dismissed my concerns against these two low-grade used car dealerships masquerading as luxury badge sellers. Also, the auto-manuals on the CL-S were giving lots of problems. I don't know if this affected the TL-S as well, but you would figure it is the same auto-manual in both.
I boght a G35 sedan instead and every time i see an Acura TL or CL I am soooooo thankful for those lousy dealers that put me off of Acura long enough for the G35 to come out. When I see the TL the styling looks so totally played now. Wonder if the new ones will look any better?

Pauli... I hope you make out okay dude but the reason I didn't choose the TL-S was because of all the tranny and brake problems I saw when browsing one of the Acura TL forums..... it was the problems with that car that scared me away from it...
Surprised no one else was thinking about an IS300... if it weren't for the size (I have a kid) I would be driving around in one right now.

I looked at the IS and ES... Lexus does luxury, but seems to not want to touch "sport". The IS is their attempt to do so, and they failed... My friend from school drives one and her one lament (other than tiny size) is that it doesn't have enough pep. I guess I'm one of those old-fashioned guys who like to feel his road and hear and feel his engine.

alderran - I am concerned about the tranny problems, but presumably, they are corrected in more recent '03 vehicles. So, I am somewhat confident that mine won't have tranny issues. (knock on wood).
It's funny, Honda has a reputation for solid reliability and Nissan doesn't. It seems the tables are turned now in favor of Nissan. I must say that my old '96 Maxima was a great car with no problems. At 100k miles, it had no squeaks or rattles and needed no major repairs. The original brakes lasted 85,000 miles and the original tires about 82,000. I am a big Nissan fan, needless to say. Prior to the Max, I had an Integra which also served me well for 184k miles with few problems. So, I have no grudge with either Honda or Infiniti.

I was between the G35, CTS, 330xi and Acura. 330xi really was too much $$ for what you were getting. A great car but I could not do it. Among the other 3 the G ran away with it. I liked the CTS and would love to see it with the bigger engine next year but could not wait.
Also, I drove an Acura Integra for 10 years. Love Acura and was very happy with it. Bought the G and Have been nothing but happy. I've had it 10 months and am still not tired of it or any less excited.
