At what mileage should my first service visit be for an 05 G?
At what mileage should my first service visit be for an 05 G? I have 1900 miles on it? Should I take it in and get the oil changed?
When was I supposed to take it in? I read the service guide and it only says take it in at 3500 miles? Are you supposed to take it in before that?

yeah i wasn't sure also so I emailed them and they told me to take itin at 3750. I still think we need to take it in at 1500, on EVERY car. Stupid people....
After having owned numerous new cars in my life time ... remember, I'm an old fart
... IMHO, following the schedule in the maintenance guide is more than satisfactory.
I went in a tad before the 3750 mile point for the first routine service, and felt perfectly okay with that. I know that there's always debate about the benefits of draining the original oil early (at 1,000 miles for example). Some think that as a new engine breaks-in, debris from the build process are basically flushed out at this point. But I've never seen any proof showing that this is a problem today.
So stick with what the manual recommends and you'll be just fine.

Brought mine in at 3500 miles for its first oil change. If you follow the service guide, you can't go wrong. In my opinion, unless you really are negligent about changing your oil regularily (wait 10K miles to change dino oil) you will get 100K on this engine regardless of what you do with oil.
Yea I will probably take it in at about 2000 just because I want to get my ash door fixed(Stuck quarter) and one of my radio buttons doesn't work right. I definitely won't let it go past 3500 though. My mom had a Jeep Cherokee that she won on the “price is right”. She drove that thing for 32,000 miles(Yes there are 3 zeros there) without changing or even filling up the oil. She had no idea that you had to change oil in cars. The car just seezed up while she was going around a corner. She towed it to the dealer and had them replace the engine. I guess that kinda negates winning the car doesn’t it?
Yeah. I'm at 1200 miles also and I pulled the dipstick out to see the condition of the oil and it looks brand new. It's still very clear. I think that even if there is an excess of debris during breakin, the oil filter will catch it. So if anything the oil filter will be clogged up more than usual but nothing too serious.
Car manufacturers will do anything and everything to cover their butts when it comes to warranty work. The fact that they don't even recommend you change your oil the first 1000 miles says a lot.

Follow the service manual, i.e. 3500 miles. That is written to maintain the car in good condition. Infiniti warranties the car, so why would they ask you to maintain less than what is required. Also, a maintenance visit is money in the pockets of the dealers, so again, why would they ask you to maintain less than what is required.
Follow the manual and you will be fine. Anything earlier and it is a waste in my opinion.

Yes I was just making sure that I hadn’t missed something in the manual. I saw the first visit at 3500 miles in the manual but I remembered hearing the sales guy say something about bringing it in after 1 month to have it looked over. My car runs like a dream so I am not too worried about it. My mom on the other hand is a different story. She replaced the jeep that had the engine replaced with a new jeep after my sister killed the first one. They talked her into prepaying the maintenance on the car. I guess she thought that by paying for it ahead of time that would mean that she wouldn’t forget to take it in. Oh well, what can you do?
I don't know what manual you guys are looking at, but my 05 manual and the online service manual list first service at 3750.
Where are you reading 3500? I read lots of posts in this thread that say 'follow the manual' and 'the manual says' and then list 3500, yet I find no reference to 3500 miles in the book..
I had my car on a lift at 2200 miles putting on splash guards. I changed the oil at the same time because I couldn't think of a reason not to.
When in doubt, read the manual FOR YOURSELF to be sure you get correct information.
