New TSB Headed for '05 Owners

Just found out that Infiniti is working on a fix for air noise from right rear passenger's side quarter panel window on many '05s.

At first they thought they would just order a rubber part and it would fix the problem, but several customers have come in with the problem and the Infiniti engineers have diagnosed that replacing the rubber part will not solve the problem so they're currently developing a fix.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem. I thought it was normal, but a little too loud considering its supposed to be a quiet ride. I notice it more when its raining or I'm going over gravel.

When will they have this info out?

Is this just wind noise or is air actually leaking into the cabin?

A bit of both I believe. The service dept. at Infiniti of Serramonte was easily able to locate the problem without even test-driving the car. The person I spoke with at Serramonte indicated that there is no ETA on the remedy to this problem but that Infiniti engineers (corporate) are working on a solution since many vehicles were affected. Our sedans should be quiet inside for $34K+

Woo. Finally, I suppose my griping about it every time I came in paid off (along with the rest of you ).

I was looking at an 05 G35x a couple weeks ago and the dealer swore to me that he had never heard that sound on another vehicle... I'm glad to hear that they're working on it. Maybe they'll have a solution by the time I decide to buy.

I have an air leak noise on the driver's side between my door's window and the weatherstrip at around 80mph. If I HOLD the power window button UP, it stops, but it returns when I let the button go. Is this the same issue that you guys are talking about, only on the other side?

I had same problem on my 05 G53X. Dealer replaced weather/Rubber peice and noise went away.

Had this problem, and the dealer of course couldn't hear anything. Jokers. Luckily my body shop fixed the problem simply by taking the windows out, then putting them back in ... correctly in alignment. No extra parts necessary, so this will be a super-easy fix once the message gets out to dealers on the fix
