NOOB gas mileage issues!
I just computed my MPG to be 22.4. My G has stock wheels and tires, I use premium gas and I try to coast to the light as much as possible. I filled up before a 200 mile highway trip which took about half the tank, since returning from my trip I have been on the highway once for about 20 miles, the rest was on surface streets, stop and go type stuff. I know the mileage will decrease since I don't do a whole lot of highway driving, I guessing I should get around 17 MPG or so for my next tank.
BTW - I have about 2800 miles on my car.

If the dealer didn't top of the tank like you did, the numbers will be off. If he shorted you say 4 gallons, then your mileage is more like 200/13 or 15.4. Give us the numbers on the next fillup when you are certain that you were able to top it off.
Now for my disappointment - my second fillup only gave me 15.5 mpg vs the 17.1 I got for the first. Also, at the same gas station, gas went from 2.899 to 3.019 in just over a week. OUCH!

I just hit 500, so I'm going to take it in for an oil change next week and try the ECU reset. Whether or not that will make a difference seems a bit controversial, but it can't hurt.

I get about 21 MPG in my 6 MT, and although I don't drive too hard all the time, it does see redline at least once per day
. I drive about 60% rural and 40% suburban/urban stoplight and some freeway (both fast & slooooow). I get about 23 MPG on long trips, running 80-85 MPH or better. My $0.02

Second week of really tracking my MPG and I just got 21.5. Not to bad considering I drive 60% stop and go and the rest highway. For those interested I have a 6MT and for the past few weeks I've been trying to drive conservatively, meaning, I shift around 2500 to 3000 RPM and anticipate/coast to lights. I know I'll probably get flamed because driving like this is no fun, I should have bought a Civic, etc. But, for the time being I'm more concerned with the cost of gas, which by the was was at 3.03 for 93 this morning, than driving spirited... LOL
Finally got some decent numbers;
Changed the dirty oil and took her on a road trip this weekend, tried to stay around 80 mph, full trunk, 3 people in the car, A/C on most of the time... 24.3 mpg AWSOME!

sorry for the stupid question, but how do you guys without navi keep track of miles per gallon? usually I fill up 14 gallons and then refill when the meter is at 1/4 tank. So I divide the miles driven by 14 every time I fill. Is there a better way to do this?
Can get 25 MPG, 05 6MT

Mostly freeway; 25% city
Second gas taank I got 25.2 MPG (real measurement).
By the way the MPG gauge from the NAV unit is pretty accurate(within 1 MPG).
Now I am pushing it more since I am in the last stage of the breaking-in procedure. I go occasionally to 3500-4000 RPM; MPG around 23.
Since I just made it to 1000 miles I am hopeful mileaage will improve perhaps by 10% later.
I think the 05 6MT has same gas mileage as 03 6MT Maxima.
I disagree thaat people drive the car hard all the time. Think all the pollution it is creating. I read 1 gallon of gas after burn produces 20 lbs of CO2 (after condensation). I like going easy on the gas and once in a while show off a Bimmer or TL.

First fill up the car and set the odo at zero.
Drive until you need gas again. (ie 300 miles)
On this fill up record how many gallons it takes to fill up the car (ie 15.0gal)
Do the math 300 divided by 15 equals 20 mpg
