I noticed that the Hawk HPS front brake pads had the same part number for my 2004 G35 and my wife's 2000 Maxima. It means they have the same geometry and are interchangeable. I compared OEM 2004 G35 brake pads with OEM 2000 Maxima and they indeed looked the same, but obviously differed by the pad compound: the one for Maxima clearly looks like semi-metallic, the G35 pad compound has a different "grayish" look. My question: can I use the Maxima brake pads on G35? I certainly anticipate some brake performance decrease but am willing to trade it for much less dusting (which is almost non-existent on Maxima while still providing a reasonable good stopping distance although not as good as G35) and longer life (I was getting 50K-55K on Maxima before the front pads change).

 

I don't know if the 05' brakes are the same as the "non-Brembo" standard brakes of the 04'. If they are, use the new 05' pads, i have had ZERO dusting!
