Braking noise

Hey guyz,

When i step on my brake pedal lightly and continue to step on it more for a stop, i hear this knocking noise. can anyone help me? I do have an aftermarket Wilwood Brake kit. Maybe that is it. Anyone have an explanation? I think it is only on one side(left). My suspension also squeeks too(anyway to fix that too?). Thanks for the help

Make sure nothing is loose! Since you installed it recently, for safety reasons make sure that everything is still tight.

Re: Braking noise

hmmm.. maybe its the slotted roaters(sp?) ?? would that be possibile?? maybe you should have somone stand outside and see when it makes the noise.. hmm also: does this problem ALWAYS happen? i notice that if i was my car and the roaters(sp?) get wet it makes a noise but stops after 5 minutes..

goodluck fixin ur problem d00d!

Re: Braking noise

A couple of other things to check:

Did you replace or remove the dust shields when you upgraded the brakes? Maybe that's hitting something.

If using slotted rotors, generally the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the rotor should contact the pad first as the rotor turns (in the direction it would turn if the car were moving forward.)

Finally, I know that these kit are supossed to fit with the stock wheels, but just make sure the caliper isn't hitting anything. Take off the LF wheel and examine the rim. If there's contact, you will see scratches, or gouges.
