So when are one of you Jerkys going to make an audio file of this exhaust Ideally we'd need something under normal acceleration from a stop to 40mph to simulate normal in town acceleration. One during cruise at 40mph under mild load. And then one on the highway at 65-70mph under cruise and mild load. Preferably with an auto too because they tend to be noisier due to normal operating rpms. We don't really need audio of the car at a stop revving the engine. It NEVER does a car justice and doesn't have nearly the same sound as it would under load.

Dave .....I've been dying to but, quite frankly, am not sure how to make the file. Obviously, I wouldn't do a 'no load' audio for exactly the reasons you expressed, and was thinking of having my little boy ride in the trunk with his frigg'n arm hang'n outta the lid with a digital recorder in his hand while I "pedal down" Seriously....tell me how and I'll do it. I've got more than average PC skills, but haven't tried anything in the audio vein yet. JBX

If you have a laptop, it should already has a microphone built in. Start recording and it should automatically convert the file to .wav. I know my Tosiba laptop from 1996 has a built in microphone. From there you should be able to post the file to server and/or email to someone from this site and have them put it on their server. The files should be pretty small (less than 1mb).

That's the rub David......My Dell Dimension 8400 PC won't easily fit on my lap , much less my car (needs longer cables too)...lol. Other suggestions are welcome. jbx

You could use a digicam that does movies. 10 secs of vid shouldn't be that large a file. If you're tricky you could also separate out the audio into a useable sound file.

Got a friend of mine, with a killer lap top and mega capabilities , to help.....the only question is ...where (physically) should I attempt to make the recording from? Any random place in the car or should I be more creative....like from the outside as the car goes by, or the mic. held from out of a window (how 'bout wind noise?), or better yet....from the rear armrest access into the trunk with the lid up, and best yet....I'll do a video/audio when I get the dyno done next month? That's the ticket, I think. Anyway, I'll soon have it done and posted for your listening/viewing approval and will be waiting for all the complaints about how loud it is, the droning, or the dyno results....lol . ....BCool,jbx
