Bluetooth

Ok, now we officially know the 06's will have bluetooth. Will it be possible to retrofit the 05's, and if so how hard/expensive?

I think many of us are interested in this. More than likely, we'll have to wait to see how infiniti implemented the bluetooth. Hopefully, it is just an add-on!!!

Get TomTom GO 700

You will get a very good NAV with in-built bluetooth hands free phone system.

You and I are probably one of the few who did not get the OEM NAV. So, getting a aftermaket NAV with bluetooth would not be the way to go, if you already have the OEM NAV.

Gotta wait to see if there is a part number generated and find someone daring enough to try to retrofit if there is any real custom work to be done. Just gotta be patient for a few months.

I doubt very much that you'll find a nice tidy part #.
This will likely be an integrated subsystem.

Ya probably a bunch of part numbers. Hopefully they are just add on components to the premium sound system and not a whole deck. However a whole deck might be ok too since it could be a clean swap but expensive.

^ That pic came from the www.infinitinews.com website.

Ok so here is my question... supposedly, when you get a call (with the OEM 06 Bluetooth thing), the radio volume lowers and the incoming caller's name is displayed in the BOSE stereo right?

If this is the case, then that must mean that the bose on the 06 is not the same as the one in the 05...

The only other explanation would be that the Bluetooth is not integrated with the stereo (I dont see any answer button on the steering wheel or the dash), which means that there is nothing "special" with owning the OEM Bluetooth.

Damn, how did I miss that, LOL. What's funny is on the Sedan, they just re-labled the '05 pics!

Hmmm, but the stereo unit looks just like the 05s, no new buttons or anything. Maybe it is just a simple add on :

If it is an addon, then that means no name is displayed anywhere... just answer and talk to that roof. If that is the case then to hell with the OEM bluetooth as I would rather put an aftermarket Bluetooth receiver which has a display and some can even be programmed with the stereo to mute them while you talk.

I found this pic for the coupe, which makes it look as if the Pwr and Mode buttons have been replaced with answer and hangup. I'm interested to know if and where the phone book is going to appear (in the head unit like BMW or Nav screen).
