I thought (although I could have been dreaming) I saw an article that referenced G35 lift points, and then mentioned jack stand adapters (I think by Nismo or Nissan Parts). The adapters sit on top of the jack stand and have slots in them similar to the factory jack and the adapter mates to the bottom undercarriage without marring the body like a jack stand without the adapters "might" do. Anybody know anything about these jack stand adapters??? Thanks for any help !

 

I made mine.
Just shaped a piece of hardwood & used epoxy to bond it to the stand.

But there are some off the shelf ones too.
Usually available at most auto parts retailers.

They're universal, not Nismo or Nissan.

 

Since I do my own maintenance, I too went on a very very long journey to find these factory adapters. I even had the part numbers from the manual, and escalated to both Nissan and Infiniti. The bottom line is that these adapters are NOT available in the USA, and are really not necessary since the jack stands can be positioned on the inner frame rails in the front of the vehicle or under the reinforced rear floor pan area in the rear of the vehicle.

I did end up buying a yellow polyeurathane one for my hydralic jack so I could lift the vehicle from the outer lift points, and it worked well until I lowered my G and no longer had enough clearance. I started lifting without the adapter and have had no problems or bent rails to date.

Bottom bottom line . . . don't worry about it.

Since these jack stands have very flat heads, they are ideal for supporting your G. Just make sure you put them on the factory jack stand points and no damage whatsoever will be done. I have personally witnessed people using places other than factory to lift / raise the G and it always results in deformation of some sort. Just follow the service manual and get these jacks if not a set similar with respect to having a flat head surface. check out my article on g-owners (amsoil bypass install) to see how one of these jacks fits under the G.

To lift from the back: place a hydraulic jack under the differential housing (center)

To lift from the front: place a hydraulic jack under the little steel nipple protruding from the plastic under coverings near the oil filter/plug location.

Support from the front & back: place flat head jack stands under the side rail sections marked off for use with the spare tire jack
