The 03s had the doggie door. The 03.5s did not. I don't know differences between 03.5 and 04.5.

under the the infiniti wording there is a trunk open button that is used by putting ur hand under the wording and pulling up only when all car doors have been unlocked.

Yea and it sucks b/c the Infiniti logo is all squished above the handle. Cant rebadge across the trunk b/c of the vertical lines.

the interior is different, just go to google type 03 g35 and search (in images) and compare to the search with 04. Easier to see than for us to explain.

Also, another significant mechanical difference (upgrade) between the 03.5 sedan with 6MT and '04 and beyond 6MT is the addition of a VLSD differential (limited slip "posi" rear end).

On the interior, the '03 6MT sedan had no cupholders in front, while the 04 6MT's and beyond got a redesigned console with two cupholders (awkwardly positioned, but they are there).

FYI

As I recall, the 6 speed manual transmission became available late in the 2003 model year. Infiniti never called it a "2003.5", either.

Manually shifting the auto transmission actually works as advertised in the '04. It will automatically downshift as you slow down, and when you stop you'll actually be back in 1st gear, as displayed on the dash. Starting out again you can shift manually from 1 - 2 - 3 - etc.

On my '03.5, if I was in 5th "5" is still displayed when I stop. When I start out again it is essentially back in auto mode up to the gear that's displayed. So basically I need to tap it down 4 times whenever I stop, if I want to manually shift when I start out again. Kind of sucks.
