Yea, after looking at it, along with our flattened out muffler, it does seem it would contribute to aerodynamics........

Yes you are right, came out wrong , but still doesn't take more than 10 minutes do get it off.

Defintely just do it yourself. I drive close to 80 miles a day to/from work so I basically change the oil about every month and a half so it's cheaper doing it myself because the synthetic oil isn't cheap at the dealers

it takes like 2-3 minutes max to get it off and on if you use a drill (turn the torque down on it). Did the first change last week, had 1950 miles on the 05X.
Changed to Mobil 1 and K&N filter. Total cost $32 - took maybe 40 minutes as this was the first time I was under there... like to lay there and observe the underbody for awhile. This is probably at least half the cost a dealer would charge for the same parts, and that is if you brought your own K&N also so that is another $12. Worth the money I think, plus I dont want anyone else touching it anyway.

Do the gaddam oil change yourself and sleep easy. Most dealers don't remove the engine protection pan either.....they just remove the front four to six bolts and bend it back enough to get clear access to the drain and filter. Stops the mess, but it's really bush league. They get paid by the job and it (bending back the pan) speeds up the process..........seen 'em do it a thousand times. B'sides changing your own oil gives the the opportunity to inspect underneath your car and get familiar with it so that it won't be so difficult when you get rid of all your stock **** and 'over modify' your car like me....
