5 Small things you love about your G
I have an '03 sedan and ever since I've bought it (about 2 weeks ago), I've come to like the vehicle more and more.
I really shopped for my car and I mean I went to car auctions and sat in umpteen cars parked there from Mercedes's, BMW's to Acura's. Some were great and most were not and when I found a G35 there, I knew it was going to be my next car.
I really love the door handles, the heaviness of the doors when they open. It gives the sensation of something well built. The silver 'INFINITI' embossed on the foot rails gave away a sense of luxury and pride in the brand. When I first started the car and revved it up, I heard the soft growling of the engine but when I let the foot off the accelerator, the sound became suddenly quiet from the contrasting growling sound. I like the contours of the car from the front pillars to the headlights. Never appreciated in motion, the car has to be still to be appreciated of its design.
The car drives well and is beautiful in and out.
I spent a big chunk of my saved cash on this car and I don't regret it at all.

1. Putting my arm against the sunroof while it's closing and spooking drunk passengers.. then showing them the safety anticlose feature when something is blocking the sunroof.
2. The certain glow of the red circular brake lights compared to other cars.
3. The "heated seats" features I never use.
4. The hidden compartment in the middle console of the rear.
5. The nav display that's not the usual gray scale nav.

1. Auto UP windows
2. Single push sunroof controls
3. The dash that moves with the steering wheel
4. Not quite looking my age when I drive
5. My son squealing with delight when I go around a curve _just_ a little faster than I probably should

I forgot about the auto up windows. That's a fantastic feature when it's a hot, hot day and your free hand is busy shifting gears.
I also forgot about the power outlet in the center console. Very nice.
Something else that is fairly common but always wonderful - artic cold ac. Even when it's 100 deg outside, I have to crank up the temp. because it's too cold.

7) the way hot rims really fill out the wheel wells and beef it up.

I am going to be bold and say that it is one of the nicest looking sports sedan in my book. Clean lines, simple yet sensous, no excessive moldings(US made garden variety crap), no big ugly grille (Audi), no weird angles(BMW), mature looking (compared to the Evo or STi)....just a smoooth, smoooooth looker!
If I were to rank it honestly, it is the 2nd best sports sedan....my favorite is of course the Maserati Quattroporte which I could never afford!

View of the hood from the driver's seat
The single best thing about the car to me is the way the hood looks from the drivers seat. Those front fenders framing in the car are just awesome looking! The sport suspension package truly gives it a porsche' 911 touch, and that makes those fenders look even meaner, especially when you push it through the turns. I dunno, the fenders just do it for me, they connect me to the car!
Definitely the best visual aspect of the car IMO. They better keep that look!

1-
Steering feel/Chassis
While a bit vague on the X model I own, the steering feels stout and predictable
2-
Ergonmics
I thought I'd never say this about a G35, the ergonmics.
I really like the seeting position in relation to the steering wheel.
The pedal position is good too. Button placement is a different story. .
3-
VQ35
A bit industrial under part throttle- Add throttle and the motor transforms to a sweet sounding motor- Nice pull under most conditions, great throttle response.

I really like the raised fenders, makes it very easy to place a car into a turn.
I felt at home after maybe 20-miles of driving this car. (also see ergonomics and chassis)
5-
Traction-
Attessa-ETSZXCKEHNGKJTLS AWD
Yes there is a bit of understeer, and maybe there is a very small amount of lag, but wait until the apex to nail it, and it's awesome just to feel the system translate the power into forward motion.
Summary-
I'd really like a 350z Track edition in addition to this car.
I was looking for the Swiss-Army knife, and I honestly found it. I honestly only have a few complaints, and the good parts are so good, that I don't even think that much about the weaknesses. As with others, the more I drive it, the more I like it. Sounds cliche I know
I give this car an 8 out of 10 for it's segment. If they fixed the interior a bit and maybe made the paint thicker and then added a 6-speed X option, it would be damn near a 10.

That reminds me that I forgot about the window thing - that is AWESOME!
1) The analog clock-classy
2) The aluminum trim in the interior
3) The tailights at night...the round LEDs remind me of a toy rocket I had in my youth. I've stood behind my car at night admiring them several times.
4) The exhaust and the fact my friend in his modded GT Mustang about **** when he didn't gain an inch from 30-60mph. He now wants to drive my car. : )
5) I got the look a few weeks ago at the ATM from a guy in a brand spankin new Black M45. He checked his side mirror and gave me a nod. A spotless Black G35 behind a spotless Black M45...priceless.
