Just how **** are you with your rides

I know alot of us are very particular with the cleanliness and mechanics of our car. What is the most extreem/**** thing you have done for or to your car?

I had softened water ran to my garage sink/hose so I can wash with nice soft, hot and cold water, PLUS I installed a Reverse Osmosis water purification system that I use to rinse the car off with, that way I get NO spots.
I also had heating and AC ducts put in my garage so its not to hot or cold for my rides.

I would really like to get a water treatment system to wash my car, right now, I use de-ionized water, buy it in gallons, and spray it with a garden sprayer, the kind you pump, even if it was just for the final rinse that would be good. I have always don the same thing slikster, sometimes I drive around a lot looking for a spot that is visible, I have a handicap plate, so I can use those spots too, nice and wide!

If you want no water spots, just wake up at 5am in the morning and thats it. I live in florida and I do get water spots if I wash past 6:30am.

As to how crazy I am with my car...

look for yourself. I spend over 12 hours washing.

I don't let my wife walk thru the garage when I have the car parked in the middle. I drive like a maniac if its about to rain and I have the G out...This has happened already and I have owned the car only for 2 weeks thus far...

Much the same as you......but no heating and A/C. I have insulated the garage, tho, so feeding heating and cooling would be a good idea.
Up to now I've used a portable kerosene heater which works fine, but smells a little.

Did you also run a return air for the heating and cooling, or does the system work well enough without?

No return, works great. I "t"ed off one of the existing main ducts that brings the AC and heat into my house. Pretty simple job. It says very comfortable in there year round, but when you open the doors, all of gets out pretty quick, and it takes a while to cool/heat up again. If I shut some of the vents in the house, it speeds up the process. It is well insolated so it does a good job nonethe less.
I also put up 2 really nice ceiling fans. I wish I would have put in windows, but I dont like people being able to look in.

Cool... (pun intended)....sounds like my next project. I've got a duct in the floor right next to the wall btw the garage and the front hall.....
I doubt one would be enough to keep the temp much above 50 in the middle of winter. Here in Ontario, Canada, it gets coooooold in jan and feb..

Ceiling fans.......maybe, we'll see...might not be that ****.

C.

I just leave the car running at night in winter. It keeps the garage warm, but I have to say, it makes me a little faint sometimes.........

Oh, water spots here in the desert don't come off very easily, if you get unlucky and get splashed by a sprinkler, the car looks like a bird got it, you have to dry it of quickly, this stuff is brutal!

I pull in the garage at an angle so the wife doesn't ding my door. I always look for a parking spot at the end of a row and even favor a spot that would put the passenger door next to my drivers door and reduce the "ding" risk.

You know, it's sad, but I do the same When will they learn to drive?? Can't someone tell them that with 8 bags of groceries, you don't necessarily need to Kung Foo kick the door open, but instead, can make a couple of trips into the kitchen?

Depending on which type you use . . . 10 to 15 layers of ordinary food wrap should do the trick. It's a mother on hot summer days.
