Water Spots

I'm new to the forum, and so far, the info has been very helpful. I know there are many threads already on water spots, but I wanted to get some more info. Yesterday, I washed my car. I sprayed it down first, washed it, rinsed it, and wiped immediately after with a MF waffle towel. When I took it into the garage to wax, I noticed water spots on the hood, trunk, and roof. I was so upset. I didn't think there was enough time for spots to develop. My mistake was that I live in AZ, and I washed the car in the sun after the car was sitting in the sun for a while. Could that have caused it?

After I saw the spots, I tried Meguiar's QD, and that didn't work. I even put on a coat of Klasse AIO. That helped it, but they didn't completely go away.

1. Do I need to do it a few more times with AIO?
2. Any suggestions on what I should do? I am hoping that since they weren't on there for a long time, I can get them out by hand.
3. I have read to use vinegar. Do you just spray vinegar on and leave it? Is is safe for the paint?
4. Scratch-X seems to work, but can I safely use it on large portions of the car like the entire hood?

I hope I don't have to go and get it taken out professionally especially since I took all the care I thought I could when washing it. Thanks in advance for you help.

Indeed it could.

Use a cleaner wax or claybar. Either should help alot.

Yes, the sun could indeed be the culprit, here. I am a long time fan of the Klasse products. Another app of AIO would probably help. It can't hurt your situation. Good luck!

viniger is usefull, though there are other ways of getting the spots out like better wax. but if you decide to use viniger then get a clean towel, pour a small amount on the towel and just start rubbing, it comes out fairly easy with viniger. but then the car gona sthink with viniger for a while so take out it for a drive to get it off.

Is a cleaner wax non-abrasive? If so, how does it remove oxidation, water spots, etc.? Thanks.

Well, if Arizona's water is anything like New Mexico's, it's going to be rather tough to remove those spots, fthey are probably light spots, right? I found a clay bar works light water spots. Lesson learned, never wash your car in the sun, especially with hard water, I use deionized water to wash mine, kind of a pain, but never any spots that don't wipe right off.

Been using the Mr. Clean Auto Dry on my cars for the past 2 years. Amazing. It really works. All you do is wet the car down and then spray it with the soap. Sponge and rinse with regular water. Final rinse with the filtered water and let her drip dry. No spots!

Just clay bar the car and it should remove the spots. Depending on how bad it is you might have to clay bar it twice.
