Any Infiniti Tech/Mechanics?
New to this site. Need some assistance please. My power steering pump has a tweeked pulley. Purchaed pulley from Local Infiniti Dealer for $42 bucks. Took to local mechanic shop to have old pulley removed and new pulley installed. I was told by local shop that I should purchase new power steering assembly would be best. Because if the removed pulley it would screw up the bearings inside and they would have to be repacked with new ones. New pump B.T.W. is $340.
I asked the person, why them would they sell power steering pulley separate if I could not be replaced? Answer: DONT KNOW
I checked the pulley. I has an allen key type screw on the wheel. I wonder If I could just swap wheels and not replace stem. Please help if you've know anything about this.

I'm curious what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to quicken the steering or something?
I wouldn't trust someone that is not familiar with these cars for something like that. They could be right in that it's not compatible with the pump or makes the pump work too hard. Check with the dealer. They should be able to give you the right answer.
