Hey all.

Okay. I finally got rid of a nasty little item from my credit report that wasn't mine (took 30+ days) and I want to buy a G35 Sedan. I can get an '03.5 tomorrow for $500 over invoice. A competing dealer said he would give me an '04 for $500 over invoice when they arrive and pricing is announced. I've heard that there will be just a modest price increase for '04 and maybe a few slight changes (heated seats standard, tire pressure monitor & improved speed with CD changer)

My questions are:

(1) When are the '04s supposed to arrive? I've heard as early as August 15th or as late as October 1st.

(2) What would you do? Take an '03.5 now or try and be patient for 2-3 months?

too late to custom order an 04 for first shipment. originally slated for Sept deliv, but could be early or late (03 orders were running early).

can buy one off of dealer order sheet.

at this point, with 1 1/2 - 2 months to go, i'd (and i am) waiting for 04. 3 negatives: 1. price might go up 2. dealer might give better deal on 03 and 3. you probably want to drive it in summer.

pros: don't take 1 yr depreciation hit in one month, could have minor upgrades (telescoping steering wheel?), etc..

 

Where are these competing dealers that are battling for your $500 over invoice? The dealers near me won't even come close to that.

mcourt, I am in California. And I am talking about an automatic sedan. The automatic sedans have been out the longest (since March of '02) and the dealers in California have a ton of them. Still, with the '04s due in barely 2 months I would think you could get a decent deal on a coupe or a manual sedan but not nearly as low a price as for an automatic sedan.
