2005 6MT base model, good price?
My friend wants to get a 2005 6MT base model, no options at all. The lowest the dealership would go is $1000 under MSRP. Is this a good deal? Or can he possible go lower? My guess is most dealerships won't go much below MSRP for base models. Whats the cheapest you've seen a base model go for(6MT sedan) Thanks!
With the 06s entering the market, you should be able to get at invoice or no more than $500 over invoice. It really depends on where you live, the demand, and what the dealer is willing to part with. I'd say no more than $500 over invoice.
Dealer here in Van Nuys SoCal offered me his base G35s for $2200 BELOW invoice. I ended up getting a base auto with sports package for $27.6K. non sport auto were at $27K. I imagine the MT would be even less since they have lower MSRP to begin with.

When I got my 2003.5 6MT I only could push $1k under MSRP. I didn't have much leverage because I live in Hawaii = 1 infiniti dealership. It was good beause it was the exact options (or lack of options) I wanted, 6MT, Black/Black. I wasn't willing to wait 3-6 months!

Price really depends on where you are located and the selection. All the great deals are in SoCal but not anywhere else that I know of. The hard part is finding a base 6mt in a color you like. Invoice for a base 6mt is $28,288 so aim for under $29k. The $1k under MSRP is $29,750 which is not a good deal IMO.
I just got my 05 G35 Sedan in Northern California for $1000 under dealer invoice price and am loving it so far!! I worked directly with the fleet/internet manager and bypassed the sales weasels on the lot all together. Go drive the G35 and find the one you want, then go home and send an e-mail to every dealer/internet/fleet manager within 50 miles and tell them your friend got one for $1000 under invoice and want to know what the best price they can offer you is.
Once you have the best price, go to the dealer nearest you and ask if they will match the price. They will almost always do this if the other quote is valid. Hope this helps!

Got my base 6MT for $29,000 at the start of August (but we got them to give us an extra $1,000 on our trade so even if you split the difference its like getting the car for $28,500) - They have room to wiggle on that price. I just got it on Friday and I am really happy! Don't take anything over $29,300.
