1. The sedan can't be that far behind
2. All this for half MSRP of the Bimmer plus low cost ownership

Two laps, 7 min high quality track/kock-pit mpeg.
Enjoy! (translation welcomed )

This was very interesting, but entirely meaningless, and I'm not talking about the translation.

If the starting order had been reversed, you would have had completely different times. The only reason the M3 was farther ahead was it's difficulty in passing the other cars. Same with the z, I would argue.

You see this kind of thing all the time in F1. The faster cars sometimes get stuck behind slower cars, and there's just not enough room to make a pass. But when they do, they quickly pull away.

I just had a Chinese friend of mine look at the video while I was looking at it. The subtitles are actually in Chinese and the translation pretty much echoes what trey said. Her translation from about minute 5:00 to 6:30 in the video was that the drivers kept talking about the G35's suspension being very stable and that it handled the corners very well. The M3 driver kept saying that the G35 never gave up on the corners so it couldn't pass...and he also said that the race would be won by the fastest car on the last straightaway.

Nice video, though.

All well and good, as $25,000 - $30,000 will buy you a lot more (but not as much more as you'd think) car, but on at least ONE glaring occasion, the M is flat out braked and out cornered by both the "G", and the "Z" - so there!!
