I also think the front mud flap ruins the lines.

i don't think his question was based on whether or not to install a spoiler, it was whether or not it makes a difference with an aftermarket spoiler. notice the questions about the painting, and the drilling. i think he's already convinced that he is getting one, it's just a matter of which one, and when.
my opinion, i bought mine without the spoiler, and had the same concerns of someone else imitating infiniti's crappy paint job on the spoiler so it fades at the same rate (people with white cars know what i'm talking about). so i made sure i didn't sit on the decision too long (4 months). then i bought one prepainted from grubbs infiniti. sure i paid a little more, could've saved an additional $50 easily, but for some reason thought buying from an infiniti dealer didn't seem like a rip off in this case. anyway... picked it up for about $200 shipped. paid $50 for install at a body shop. yes they had to drill. but they did great work, they plugged in the third light, unplugged the factory third light. and i was off. 18 months later, still looks factory. no problem with fittings or anything else. however... if i were to do it all again, i'd look at other spoilers as well, i.e. lip spoilers, impul, gialla, etc...

When I bought my black 03 sedan, put the spoiler on the very next day. When I bought my IP 05 coupe, I hesitated and ended up not installing it. Sedans look like an American car without one.

I decided against the spoiler. I do like the way it looks when your at the front of the car with the 3/4 view. Side and rear view don't do it for me as much.

I'm still deciding too (which means I'm without a spoiler by default). I go back and forth - especially on the lip spoiler. I would need to see one in person. Some pictures I like with the lip, others I don't.

spoiler

I own a G sedan and as much as I like rear spoilers on some cars, the G is not one of them. The OEM rear spoiler looks like it was made for another car. Any spoiler that covers half of the trunk just doesnt look right. Its too big.

The coupe without the spoiler looks naked to me. The spoiler completes the line of the car.

You are right Russ, your sedan looks awesome but the spoiler just doesn't do anything for it. I agree with you it would look much better without the oem spoiler or go with a small lip spoiler.
