To put a spoiler or not?

Hi, I purchase and IP/Wheat G sedan. I am debating if I should get the OEM spoiler installed that comes with the Aero package. DO you guys think that it would look good with the IP? Does anyone have an pictures that can be posted? Are there any problems with adding a spoiler after the purchase regarding the color of the spoler mathinkg the exact paint in the car? What I mean is, the paint in the spoiler although the same color as the car, comes from a different batch.

I prefer a smooth rear end...

(mind wandering over to Thuy thread...)

Wait, we are talking about cars here, right?

G35 is one these cars that look better without the spoiler, coupe or sedan. Very few cars actually look good with the spoiler. The spoiler has to be designed from the outset as an integral part of the car, like some Porche designs and the Lamborghini Contache, so the spoiler is a standard item not an option. I have seen some people added a spoiler to their corvette. It looked just plain ugly. You hardly see exotic sports cars with a spoiler, except the Lambo mentioned earlier.

Exclamation

Here is a pic of the OEM rear spoiler installed by the dealer. No paint imperfections or color mismatches. Simple to install as the dealer uses a template for proper allignment and the wiring is alreadyt there for the 3rd brake light.

I think the car looks very plain without it. I had a loaner for a month that didn't have a spoiler. I had a hard time picking it out among the other cars parked in my garage at work.

This is a never ending debate. Some say yes and some say no. The bottom line is whether or not you like it.

i think the color of the car makes a difference on how the spoiler will look. i personally like my white G w/o the spoiler. i might look nice on darker colors though.

To bad you don't have a DG, I'd trade you my trunk lid with a spoiler to get rid of it...I think it ruins the sedans lines.

IMO, the only color the spoiler looks good on is black. Somehow black blends in the spoiler. On all other colors, the spoiler doesn't look quite right. On a black G, I could go either way. On any other color, it would have to be without. At least the spoiler is functional and that's one thing most car's with spoilers can't brag about.

Exactly, it's purely opinionated. There are plenty of pics around with spoilers. Add up how much it's going to cost at the dealer and decide if it's worth it.

IP is the best looking Sdn out there. It accentuates the stricking lines/form of the Sdn. Looks best butt-naked.

OEM spoiler looks best/phenomenal on BO.

I have a BS, initially spoilerless, now with OEM. It looks okay.

If you decide to take the spoiler route - make sure to get a tech who knows what he is doing - most common complaint I have heard of is drill clippings being left inside the trunk-lid. If you are **** about your ride - you will hear them rattle when opening/closing trunk. Vacuuming them out is a bind.
