What would Infiniti have to do to beat the BMW 330i in a comparison?

You have to admit that the IS350 is a real competitor to the G35 don’t you? I would consider trading my G35 for an IS350 if the price really was about $40K and if the back seat is not as small as some people have said. However, I think it will end up being more like $42K-$44K for the IS350 I would buy and the back seat is really quite small. Still a very nice car though. A whole lot better than the 330i I think. Still not quite the “deal” that the G35 is though.

I'm interested to see this car firsthand myself. With all the claims and numbers flying around I'm anxious to see what happens in the real world when you try to drive one off the lot.

As soon as I get to the PNW (of course $hitty south Texas has no Lexus dealer) I'm going to go have a look at one. Not to trade, just to see what the car offers, how it feels, and what the asking/selling price difference is.

I agree with the $42 - $44K average mentioned here - if not a little higher fully loaded.

I'm sure it will be a competitor, just didn't think the "unload" comment was needed.

Didnt mean to offend you in any way. I really like my G, great car for the price and performance that you get. I just think that Infiniti dropped the ball a bit on the "sport pkg". Compared to the cars in its class, engine power aside, It just dosent have the look of a sport pkg. Imo of course. Tires are on the skinny side and ride height is crazy high. I wanted the coupe but the best I could get it for was 500 over invoice. I got the sedan for 1200 below. Oh well, I figured someone would get offended by me thinking that the G is not the best for everybody......

Why are you worried about the G beating the 330 in the comparison... all you need to know is that you have the better car.

I just got some random release party invite from Lexus for the 21st. I might check it out - I'd like to see the IS350 in person.

I'm very happy with my 05 6mt and sport pkg but a slightly sportier look would help it stand out. I'm still not complaining because I got mine for much less than $30k. From reading the review in MT on the IS350, it sounds like it's going to have an awesome set of standard options. I will probably check one out in person but won't be trading in my G35 anytime soon. Price and performance wise, it just cannot be beat.

Much less than $30K!? How much did you actually pay? Did you get any options on it? I would be curious to see how much a place like carmax would buy your car for? I bet you could sell it for more than you bought it for if you really paid “Much” less than $30K. I would consider much less about $3K. Were you really around that?

i paid 26,9 for my 2004 sedan back in oct 03. almost traded for a c6. 2 weeks ago, carmax offered me 27,4. of course, looking at my sig, you can see the mods, you probably could've guessed this transaction took place over the phone.

I just want to add that I NEVER wear seatbelts (unless in highway), and if I did this on a 3 series bmw, I would get a beeping noise that would never go away. My beautiful G, on the other hand, is quiet.

Another beeping noise that never goes away is when you're hooked up to a ventilator after you've broken your neck.
