Auto Locks on 05 G35X

Does anyone know of an Auto Lock Feature in the G35's. Most cars I have seen have this but for the life of me, I can not find any info on it in the manual or otherwise.

If you're talking about auto locking when driving, you can stop looking. Doesn't have it. Not a configurable option, not stock; just doesn't exist.

I performed a test on my G35. I locked the doors with the power lock switch and then I grabbed the inside door handle and the door would not open. That made the decision for me that I would NOT drive with the doors locked. I was once hit in a rental car with auto locks and I wasn't familiar with the power lock switch location or the door lock location ( since I hadn't locked the doors ). Where the car ended up after being hit was dangersous and I wanted out IMMEDIATELY! The door wouldn't open. I vowed that I would not have a car of my own that would put me in a position like that again. If the G35 had a mandatory auto lock, I would disable the auto lock portion if I could, or the kill entire power lock capability if I had to, in order to keep from being in that position again. If someone riding with me wants to lock their own door, fine, they take their own chances. But if the passenger hits the power door lock, that is declaring war.

I believe you can just flip the lock lever on each door, even if the power is off, that should allow you to mechanically unlock it.

I agree that just flipping the mechanical unlock works. However, in the dark, with a big jolt of adrenaline in my system, and vehicles bearing down on me with the distinct possibility of additional collisions, details like that sometimes escape me. Having been there and done that, I don’t need a repeat. As with all opinions, your mileage may vary

I personally am glad it doesn't have auto locks. I hate that feature. If it had it, it would have to be able to be disabled. JMO.

I wont drive with the doors unlocked.....way to easy to get carjacked that way. Not that that even happens around here...but **** happens sometimes - always to those who are not prepared for it.

The bottom line seems to be that having this feature available might get more customers for Infiniti. Making it mandatory, either present or absent, may lose some customers.
