04 sedan brakes

FYI Infiniti just replaced both front rotors and pads under waranty. The pads had 2mm left, but the rotors were worn, not gouged in any visible manner. The vehicle has 17K and never driven hard.

I think they did this twice on my car between 10k and 27k

WHat crap is this? Can we ask for extended warranty for free on infiniti if these problems keep showing up? I dont belive this crap man..why the hell would I buy an infiniti if this happens..I mean I love my car, have a ton of fun driving it..but this stuff is rediculous and when it is out of warranty..we going to be paying through the nose to get it fixed..

Do you drive in a lot of traffic? I got 25K out of my fronts and I am generally not kind to them.

That's why I replaced my OEM pads with the "Metal Matrix" that I bought from Stillen (a little over a $100) before I had a 100 miles on ithem. I knew the deal way before I bought the car (I worked for Infiniti) and I didn't wanna go through all the warrantry tripe. I also wanted to upgrade the stock crap anyways, along with ridding myself of the dust issue, so I went with the Metal Matrix and never looked back....great pads. I posted all the peripheral stuff concerning this back in Nov.04'... and it, as always, should be easy to find on the "search". Spending the $100+ was a no brainer as opposed to the back and forth pain in the *** crap of ring around the dealer. Anybody wants the new stock pads... ya can have em'....just pay the freight. BCool, jbx

Yes, I'm with you Justbrilliant.

I've heard the most logical solution is to use better brake pads, I've heard good things about the Hawks as well. For now I will ride the free warranty, once I'm passed that, I am not going anywhere near the dealer for my brakes.

Brake warranty @ 17k

The brakes pedal have seemed different for a while (no noise), but what caught my eye was the worn rotor. It was dished. I asked Infiniti to check the brakes and they replaced the front rotors and pads (front pads had 2mm remaining while the rears have 6mm) w/o any fuss. I'm hoping the new ones will last much longer and the pads not "dust" as much. I've been pleased w/ my car.
