Simple . . . For those of you whom are undecided/confused . . . Just start out with the less expensive gasoline and save a few bucks. If you like the way your car operates . . . Stick with your previous gas grade selection . . . Done.

Why pick on his english when you have your own issues? I couldn't even read your whole post because of all the problems. I suggest you learn how to write before blaming someone else. Yours is much much worse than his.

i dunno about new york, but in LA, premium/super/v-power/chevron with techron/whatever u wanna call it, is always placed to the farthest right at the gas pumps. fyi just dont ever pump anything that says deisel into ur car. its gonna cost less than $2.00 per fill up to go from 89 to the top end. its worth it as it does increase MPG due to ur engine not retarding timing to compensate for the lower octane fuel.

plus if im not mistaken, it does say premium octane only in the manual.

im not tryin to be an *** in anyway, and i honestly say this in all sincerity, but please try to spell ur words correctly, and make sure ur sentences make sense. its gonna make it oh so much easier for ppl on the boards to help u out with any questions u got if we can actually understand what ur trying to say.

I could be wrong but I think eyazdchi was mocking Pauliejr because of his use of a text messaging language rather than just english...

BTW - Cost difference between 87 and 93 for me in the Chicago area is ~3.70 per tank, definitely worth it.

I don't believe he was. Because if you look at all his other posts on this forum they all look the same. Do a search by his username.

Many premiums gasolines have added detergents which are important to engine performance related to engine deposit forming. Some brands use the same level of detergents across their octane spectrum and some give the premium a boost in detergent levels.

If he can't use proper english, he shouldn't pick on someone elses. Give it a break. It isn't right.

this debate will rage on forever. people talk about decreased performance using 89 compared to 92. I am fully aware of the knock sensors and that the ECM will retard the timing if it detects a knock, but can anyone tell me how much power is lost? I suspect it's a lot less than you think. a few years ago some guys on the Taurus SHO did a test using a dynojet 248. they tested with premium and obtained their HP number. they went out and ran the gas out of the car then fill it back up with regular 89. The dyno result was around 3 HP drop.
