I could cry...
So last nite I went out, and of course valet because couldn't find anywhere to park and didn't have any cash. Well so when I go to get the car, the dude can't get the car out has to austin powers for a bit, then finally I get them to move a car so he can get out. I was like woh that was really close, but he was like yeah i got it out, and i was like good i don't like to see it harmed. So I didn't notice it that night, but tonite when I went to check out the car after dinner w/ some friends they're like whats that on your passenger side back door. So I'm like oh its just dirt. Well unfortuantely its not :-( Its a big *** ding and the little plastic thing on the door is missing most of the paint, and there are a few deep scratches. I was so upset, I had to drink a LOT of beers to calm down. I couldn't believe someone hit me, but I'm 99% sure it was the valet last nite because the angle of it looks like it. I don't know what to do, because the fact there is damage on a car with 600 miles on it makes me want to cry... I never want to valet again or drive my car anywhere there is not a big enough parking lot. I think it will be 500-1k repair and I'm not going to claim it ($100 comprehensive). Guess no nice dinners for a long time. Anyone else have a similar experience / damage? I'm going to call the place that valet and just say I'm upset with their valets and hope they will be more careful. Ugh...someone give me some good news lol.
I work as a valet and I always give extra love to the Gs
. I don't know how their valet company works but with ours, you can go claim the damage and if they didn't mark the damage on your car when you pulled in (meaning it was caused by them) then you might be able to get them to pay for it.

how exactly does that work? I think it will be a pricey repair....I guess I will call the place and ask and I have a witness (who was with me) watching him. Any tips on that? The dude should have just moved the car parked straight in front instead of trying to austin powers..poor choice by valet..but if it was better lit I may have been able to say wtf this is fresh etc....ugh well thanks for some good news..but i'm sad G is hurt :-(
Umm.. I'm not sure exactly how it's done but I heard my supervisor talking about it before. Valet companies have insurance for when stuff like this happens. My supervisor always tells me to mark any damage I see when customers come in so they won't be able to make claims against us. I would just call the place and tell them your situation and that you have a witness.
K so I guess I should call the bar / restaurant place and ask for their valet's company #? I thought the card they give says "no liablity" blah blah. Guess I will find out. Ugh so stressful
but I appreciate the help, I want to fix her back up, I was planning to wash her tom. but won't so I can leave the damage there (I also keep detailing towels in the car, so I did clean it up to really see the extend but man its re-sand the door and everything UGH). Sry for the moaning but I am upset lol.

Well it wasn't me driving lol so it was a hooligan. I'm going to see what I can get out of the valet company. I'm not going to claim it because regardless of how much I save now raising the premium is not worth it. Yeah I think I learned my lesson, no more valet ever LOL or heres 5 bucks let me park it and move it.

I'd say about $500 from what I can tell from the pics... It's not as bad as it could be.
I know what's it's like when you are somewhat forced to use valet. I was takin my boss to dinner one night and took the G. I was headed to self-park and he was like "Do valet.. I'll pay for it". I started to head into the valet just because the boss wanted me to, but right before the turn, I said "No.. Only I park the G!" Kinda funny now because it's a big joke around the office because I baby my car soooo much. I'm so picky about my parking spots they can normally tell by my mood that day, if I got a parking spot that met my likes. I don't like to park between 2 cars. I always gotta be on the end so I can park really close to the curb to minimize the risk of someone dinging me.
Which restaurant/bar were you at in Atlanta so I make sure to avoid them?
Sorry to hear about the G. Get her fixed good as new.

Lol that's kinda my reputation because I ride mass transit (marta) to work and people at work say I should drive and I'm like f-that I'm not driving my new car downtown with the crappy roads and people who just don't care, at least where I live I can park next to nicer cars and people who probably wouldn't want to hurt their car either (yea its kinda stupid but honestly other nicer car drivers are more cautious).
I was at East Andrews and valet right next to it (their personal one). I can't believe the guy even tried austin powers moving around, instead of just getting someone to finally move the other car.
The bad thing was I was on a double date so I volunteered to drive since I'm the DD always (don't trust anyone else). Argh I shouldn't trust anyone to drive my car either
Oh well I will see what comes of dealing with the valet company tomorrow.
500 bucks? That seems lower than I expected because I figured 150 for the dent, then they would have to resand the whole door (since there are skid marks on the door above the plastic if you can see them) so that would be the pricey part. UGH.

Valet place hasn't called me back....been over 24hrs now. What's next step? The rest. place called me back and said theyve never really had too many problems and am I 100% certain, I'm 99% sure the austin powers manuvers damaged it because the damage is where it should be for what the valet did. Any advice?

Well the next day that I returned home I was washing the burban and I was on my little ladder and discovered my roof was smashed in for about 3 feet. You couldn't see it unless you got up on something.
I blew up and called them, after many days of arguing I lost cause they said they would not cover it since I did not point out the damage when the valet brought it to me (even though I would have to be 8' tall to see it without a ladder).
I think you might as well bite the bullet and cough up the cash to fix it cause you did not point it out that night.
You is screwed

.I was going to say the same. If you didn't pointed it out to them when you got your car back that night, then they could say that you dented it the next day. Seems unfair because who the hell makes a 360 inspection on their car (especially at night too) when the valet guy comes back with the car? But then again, I could see their viewpoint too, because who knows what the customer did afterwards, etc...
