do i service at the dealer?!
so i've got my friends G right now, and the brake, vsc, and slip lights all stay on 90% of the time. i took the car to the dealer since it's under warranty, and he said the front brake pads and rotors both need to be replaced, as well as flushing the brake fluid (it's a 03 w/ 50k). that would turn off all the lights and return the car to normal like she was a few months ago. the brake service was quoted at 490, and 130 to flush the fluid. what do you guys think? i really cant do the work myself, especially considering it's not my car, so whats the most cost effective way to fix the car? and to not void what's left of the warranty?
i've read the other threads similar to this, and the consensus was to do the work yourself, which just ain't gonna happen. also, what are the chances of infiniti doing the service for free like many people got, even though i'm 14k miles over the amended warranty? how serious is the brake issue? (her's have never been changed so far, and really were fine 4-5k miles ago)
thanks guys

Well, the car is over 36k miles, so you're not going to be able to get them to do the pads for free. The owner of the car, if he's had other problems, might be able to call Infiniti's consumer hotline and complain and authorize a free pad replacement, but I doubt it.
The work absolutely does NOT have to be performed by the dealer. You can take it to any repair shop, and not affect the car's warranty. However, at 50k, I believe the warranty is completely up anyway.

My 2003 sedan held it's warranty until 60K miles. If you are gonna replace the rotors, go with aftermarket ones like "frozen rotors". The OEM ones wear way too fast....my .02 cents
