Snow tires and tire pressure
Snow tires and tire pressure
I just received my Blizzaks mounted on new rims in the mail for my 05 Sedan (6MT). What will happen with my tire pressure monitor? Will I have an annoying light on the dash all winter? Is there something that needs to be placed inside the snow tires? This would involve mounting and dismounting 8 tires and rims. Yuck.
From what I have read, as long as none of the wheels have a sensor, the light won't trip. I think this is done to accommodate snow tires/wheels.
I need to start thinking of ordering a set also. Did you order from Tire Rack? What wheels did you pick?

I don't have the TPS in my aftermarket wheels and the light comes on pretty much every time I drive on long trips. (After about 1 1/2 to 2 hours) I have never noticed it coming on during short trips around town. I figured it would be better to leave them in my stockers for winter use.
I did order from Tire Rack. I got Blizzak WS-50. They said they are less of a performance tire and more of a true ice/snow tire. I had them mounted on Mille Miglia wheels. Don't remember the model number but they are very similar to the stock '05 rims. I got 17". The set mounted and shipped to my door was around a grand.
