Gear display questions

In my 2004.5 G35X, I've noticed in the LCD display where your gear is indicated that there is what appears to be a small "M" and a small "S" to the right of the gear number or letter.

I understand that the "M" indicates the manual mode, but what is that friggin' "S" for?!?!?!

The "M" lights up in manual mode. I've never seen my "S" light up (does yours?), and in fact I didn't know it was there until I looked today after seeing your post. Maybe you have the supercharged version . I couldn't find it in my owner's manual either. I think mine is a 04.5 and believe it was built in August 04 (purchased Oct. 04).

Try a search. I remember a long discussion about this a year ago.

If you know, would you care to shed some light on this? You try searching for "s"!!!

I searched for "shift display" and came up with a bunch of posts about differences in 03-04.5 shifting and all that "top gear selector" stuff.

My best guess would be one of two things ... check your VDC on/off switch and your Snow mode. Mine was mfg in 07/04 (2004.5) and I do not rem seeing it at all.
